More than 7,500 people are currently stranded in Serbia, living in overcrowded camps and informal settlements. The country has agreed with the EU to host up to 6,000 people, of whom only 3,140 live in facilities adapted for winter.

In Belgrade, around 2,000 young people, mainly from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria are currently sleeping in abandoned buildings in the city center, while temperatures plummet to as low as -20°C.

In order to help them survive one of the hardest winters in the recent history of Sebria, a group of 15 dedicated volunteers and activists rented a big warehouse as private citizens and started filling it up with clothes, shoes, jackets, blankets, ready made food, biscuits, fruits and other supplies that are now a lifeline for many.

Once a month, the team lists all the items and service provide with the collected funds. Donors are also invited to join a Facebook group where details of the work are shared.
