Eko-Omblići Association from Mokošica, a settlement near Dubrovnik, is the only ecological association of children in Croatia and it was founded on World Water Day March 22nd 1999. The association is named of the River Amble, which with a length of only 30 meters is one of the shortest rivers in the world. The association main activities are preservation of the local ecosystem, and growing various plants. The association members very often organize a sale of flowers they have grown and donate income for humanitarian purposes. In the past, they donated money for medical treatments of Nevio Krešić, Karla Sentić and Mara Maltarić, to the Rina Mašera Association for Helping Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, and many others. Their latest activity was marking of the Mother’s Day when they collected 300 HRK (40 EUR) by selling flowers and hand-made bags. The amount will be donated to the campaign for acquiring of Digital Mammogram to the Dubrovnik General Hospital.
