Students of the Dušan Jerković Uča Elementary School in Deč near Šimanovci will start a new school year in a fully renovated building.

Instead of crumbling walls and old desks and chairs, the pupils moved into the furnished and equipped modern classrooms, thanks to their fellow countryman Đorđe Petković who now lives and works in New York. In the renovation of the school building, Petković invested around 40,000 EUR and thanks to this donation, a heating system was introduced, floors were replaced, new desks and chairs and other furniture were purchased, bathrooms were renovated and a new multimedia classroom was built.
