30 young volunteers were a part of the Summer Camp “Shpresa” at Velipoja beach, in Lezha, which lasted for 45 days and was attended by around 180 people with disabilities. Working with them was a part of the volunteering work of the youngsters, which makes the project even more unique: daily, they organized different activities and games for all the attendees with different disabilities.
This is the 22nd year that the Catholic Church in Albania organizes the summer camp “Shpresa”, and except for Albanian volunteers, young people from around the word joined the camp and offered their help. The number of people with disabilities that attend the summer camp has been increasing each year, but also the number of volunteers - especially from Albania.
The church expressed its gratitude to people who participated and highlighted that there are many other people who need help, and we should continue to express our love and compassion.
