Another week filled with philanthropic action and good deeds is behind us. Once more, the majority of acts of giving have been done in support of the fight against the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Valjevo entrepreneurs donate to the city’s General Hospital
The family businesses “FAB d.o.o. Lukavac“ and “Metalprom d.o.o.” from Valjevo have delivered a donation valued at 2 million dinars to this city’s General Hospital.
The donation consists of 19 modern hospital beds, 15 of which feature anti-allergenic mattresses, and four adjustable electric beds for the most severe patients in intensive care. Two mobile multi-purpose medicine cabinets have also been provided.
The new furniture has been put to use immediately, significantly easing the work of the medical staff and providing patients additional comfort during their hospitalization and COVID-19 treatment, says the Valjevo hospital administration.
Free support for the residents of Novi Sad during the pandemic
Gordana Beločić started the Facebook group Covid 19 Novi Sad in order to provide the people of her town and the medical staff up with date information and support. Gordana has also been providing free psychological support through the page Čaj sa Gocom (Tea with Goca).
Due to her efforts, she has been awarded the National Volunteering Award at the recently held CSR Forum organized by the Responsible Business Forum.

Kaufland donates masks to children from earthquake-stricken areas
To help normalize life in areas struck by the devastating earthquake last year, Kaufland had donated children’s single-use protective masks, as well as fruits and vegetables to schoolchildren from associated schools, the City Societies of the Croatian Red Cross, Caritas Croatia, and the SOS Children’s Village Lekenik.
Following a large cash donation, we have contributed to the reconstruction of the stricken areas, we are now aiding those left destitute in this way. We wish to help life return to normal in these areas as soon as possible, explains Marija Franić, Kaufland’s Corporate Communication Manager.
Amko komerc donates groceries to the “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš” General Hospital
The company Amko komerc has donated food items and single-use dishes to the “Prim. dr Abdulah Nakaš” General Hospital’s COVID-19 ward.
Our wish is to provide support to citizens in these trying times. We are expressing our gratitude and support the enormous efforts of the healthcare workers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who fight night and day to save the lives of our fellow citizens, says Minela Durmo, Marketing Director of Amko komerc.
She has also invited other companies and institutions to provide support to healthcare workers and the whole healthcare system, which is currently most severely exposed to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pomozi.ba association supports Travnik hospitals
The association Pomozi.ba has provided five oxygen concentrators to hospitals in the city of Travnik.
These machines produce up to five liters of oxygen per minute and they are used for treating COVID patients with lighter symptoms. The devices will be at the hospitals’ disposal for a year, and the association will be servicing them at their own cost.
If it proves necessary, the machines will remain in the use of the hospitals for a longer period. Three of the machines will be provided to the Pulmonary Disease and TBC Hospital and two to the JU Hospital Travnik.
Up to this point, Pomozi.ba has been providing 30 machines for use in hospitals in Bosnia and Herzegovina – 20 to Sarajevo hospitals, 5 to the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica, and 5 to hospitals in Travnik.
Pomozi.ba says the action continues and all who are willing to support it can do so by donating to the association’s account, their web platform, or by texting the humanitarian number 17022, by which the supporter donates 2 KM to the cause.
Donations for the Ohrid General Hospital
The Ohrid General Hospital received a valuable donation, thanks to the organization SOS BALKANMEDIA Ohrid and its partners SN Insurance Broker from Bitola.
The donation consists of protective masks, medical equipment, and medicine necessary for the treatment of critical patients.
