One year old Sofija Nikolić from Belgrade was born with a cleft between the trachea and esophagus, due to which all the food she takes goes to her lungs. In only a year, she had seven surgeries, and after these surgeries she has embedded cannula in the neck through which she breathes, and several times a day must be aspirated, therefore her parents are providing her with 24/7 care.
Sofija was diagnosed with two newly opened fistulas and needed 120,000 EUR for the treatment. Thanks to all the people who contributed to the campaign, all the necessary funds missing (app. 80,000 EUR) for her medical surgery in Paris were raised in just five days!
