For the 8th year in a row, GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) is organizing a volunteering action called The Orange Day - this time they are helping children living without parental care or living and working on the streets.
The team of volunteers dedicated a day to improving the environment in which children spend the majority of their time - accommodation facilities and outdoor areas of 2 institutions: Drinka Pavlović - Residential Center for Children without Parental Care, and Center for Youth Integration - Svratište za decu Zvezdara. Aside from this, the company supported 2 more dorm facilities with donations and educational programs, namely “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” and “OJ Materinski dom” which work as a part of the Center for Care of Infants, Children and Youth in Belgrade.
“This year, The Orange Day was dedicated to the children who need help, and at the same time we wanted to to draw attention of the public to the difficult life circumstances that they are facing and motivate other companies and individuals to join the support. Aside from supporting the children, we are conducting an educational program in the Mother’s home for pregnant women and young mothers with children who need social protection, in order to help them find employment and gain independence”, emphasized Sanja Panjesković, from GSK’s corporate communication sector.
