Even though it was recently opened - in December 2015 - Slad Beer Shop & Tap has become very popular and famous in Pančevo and the wider area, not only for its beer but also for its philanthropic activities and support.
With photographer Tamara Mićanović, on February 6th, the Beer Shop & Tap already managed to organize a very successful donors evening – a humanitarian sale of photographs. The photographs were taken by Tamara at the Mali London settlement which is based in the suburban part of Pančevo and is mainly inhabited by Roma people. Symbolically, February 6th is also the birthday of Bob Marley who dedicated himself to marginalized groups. Every person who donated at least 1,000 RSD (app. 8 EUR) got one photograph. The exhibition raised a total of 250 EUR (app. 27,000 RSD), and the money was used for the purchase of toiletries, diapers, baby food, etc. for the inhabitants of Mali London.
Slad Beer Shop & Tap is already supporting the Liceulice Association by subscribing to three copies of its magazine per month until the end of 2016.
In addition to this, starting from March, during the next two years Slad will be donationg 4,000 RSD (app. 32.5 EUR) on a monthly basis to the Ekolibrijum Pančevo Association for Animal Protection. The money will be covering expenses of sterilization for two stray cats each month.
And there’s even more! Also starting from March, Slad became a member of Drop-In’s Circle of Donors by paying 10,000 RSD (app. 80 EUR) on a monthly basis to finance the work of the Drop-In Center for the next two years. Well done!
